Gluten Free Meatloaf and Meatloaf Meatballs
Dec 16, 2025
If you follow me, you know I love recipes that you can adapt to your liking, and this one certainly fits.
You can serve this as a traditional meatloaf topped with cheese or ketchup, or you can make a set of retro meatballs with a ketchup glaze.
And if you're someone who grew up with gravy for your meatloaf, you're fancy, but go ahead and enjoy however suits you.
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 pound ground sausage
1 can brown lentils, drained and rinsed
Garlic powder
Onion powder
1/4 cup dried onion
1 egg
Black Pepper to taste
Ketchup, Cheese or Gravy to put over the top
Directions
Mix all of the ingredients together in a bowl, except for the ketchup.
It's best if the meatloaf or meatballs are cooked on a broiler pan sprayed with cooking spray so any grease can drip away from the meat.
If you're making meatloaf, shape into two loaves and cook at 350 for 35-45 minutes depending on your oven and desired doneness.
Cover with your favorite topping and return to the oven for 5-10 minutes to let the topping set or melt as necessary.
If making meatballs, cook at 350 for 20-25 minutes, also depending on your oven and desired doneness.
For meatballs, I would not recommend cheese as a topping. If you are using ketchup, you can glaze the meatballs at this point and return to the broiler for 1-2 minutes or to the oven for 5-7 minutes to set the glaze.
If you're serving with gravy or with ketchup on the side, I suggest serving that in a mini Crock Pot so it's nice and warm.
Enjoy!
